Johan Uittenbogaard |
Johan has worked in Executive Search in Japan for over 7 years, most recently as Partner and Founder of the technology team of a Japanese search firm before founding BSP’s Japan office last year. Johan has spent 12 years in Japan in consulting and sales roles, speaks fluent Japanese and is intimately familiar with Japanese business culture.
Originally from the Netherlands, Johan started his international career for a Dutch exporter in their Japan Office, where he was responsible for developing new sales channels. He returned to the Netherlands after 4 years to continue his career in sales for a major Japanese trading firm where he was responsible for the Benelux and German markets, both for sourcing specialty and commodity chemicals from Europe for the Asian market and importing specialty chemicals from Japan into these European markets. He later expanded his business terrain into the Middle East.
Upon returning to Japan in 2001, Johan entered the Executive Search business where he has successfully partnered with mainly US and European technology companies in the IT, Telecommunications and Electronics industries for their senior management needs in Japan. His clients vary from blue-chip companies to small niche players, and Johan has been instrumental in assisting a large variety of companies hire their first people in Japan.
Johan graduated with an MA from Leiden University in Japanese Language and Culture.
